Adat optical isn't working on My UAD2 apollo

Please tell me it's something obvious.
I'm going optical out from an audient mico into the optical in (1) on the Apollo.
I'm getting no joy.
I've done something similar with a Digi003, and it immediately worked.
Is there something that I'm not seeing that has to be enabled in the
Apollo's console?
Spidf works fine by the way..

No one eh?
hmmm

I'm thinking that it's a problem with the toslink protocol vs the Adat optical one?
2 chennel vs 8.
Just a guess mind you..

Mico has S/PDIF out, not optical. I have one connected to my Apollo via S/PDIF and word clock from the Apollo to the Mico. You need to adjust the DIP switches on the Mico to clock to word clock in, and terminate it if it's the last word clock in the chain. Works brilliantly.

So..just so I understand , the optical connector on the back is only s/pdif? and the rca connector is s/pidif?
I was able to use the rca on the back easily..
Once I adjust the dip switches and terminate, I should see a signal then?
As it is..over the optical connector I'm seeing nothing..IU'll try it tonight.

thanks

Okay…so after a quick test, I've discovered that the baby face handles the Mico effortlessly..
It appears the Rme baby face auto switches between adar optical to Spdif over one connector.
I'm really surprised the Apollo can't do this..

I'll have to double check, but I believe you can switch the ADAT to be S/PDIF on the Apollo.

That would be nice to know..
I'm not usually (well my friends might disagree) quite this daft when it comes to using an interface,
but would love to know what I'm missing.
I appreciate you chiming in Matt..

thanks

Well, I did not see the ability to switch it. There's always the good old CO2 from M-Audio, or COP-1 from Fostex that will convert coax to optical S/PDIF and vice versa. I probably have one kicking around somewhere that I'd part with on the cheap, if you need.
