Has anyone heard if we are still on schedule for a Fall release of Console 2 for us Firewire users??
Just figured I'd ask. I don't want them thinking we don't care!!
Cause we do!!

Yeah "WE CARE A LOT"!!!!
Nice Exoslime!
FNM reference, yes?

I actually have been thinking that it wouldn't surprise me if they are waiting on Windows 10 and plan on keeping it all TB, just writing the appropriate TB drivers for Windows once that OS allows for it.

The timing kind of makes sense, Gannon had said Fall, if Windows 10 rolls out next week per their press release then also considering the statement that the Windows 10 TB would shortly follow, that would give UA the ample opportunity to get those UA/Windows TB drivers ready for the Fall.

I, for one, will not be too upset in abandoning FW if the above pans out, even as someone who would need to order a TB card for my Apollo SF. Done.

Hoenerbr, are you intent on sticking with FW even if Windows 10 TB/UAD Apollo is all good to go?

ooops edit*** - I just realized that I had assumed all of you stuck with FW/console1 were also on Windows. I had temporarily forgotten there are some Mac users left out of Console 2 ...of the 'Cheese Grater' variety, right? pardon me on that. I suppose that does indeed put some emphasis and hope on Console 2 for FW. :-/

Yes my Apollo is on a Cheese Grater! And even for those who are about to have Thunderbolt available on Windows 10, They may not have the Motherboard to support it yet. Just because MS is finally getting its act together finally doesn't mean everyone is ready to go out and buy a new computer (And a Thunderbolt Card for Apollo)
No, I think there are plenty of us Firewire users that are waiting patiently for Console 2!

Hey guys. It was stated in another forum post that UA was not working on and had no plans to work on TB drivers for Windows. Sorry to be a party pooper. :-(

Haha it means they are working on Console 2 for FW, b/c they aren't doing TB

...okay, yes...i hope that is true but I also hope there is a bigger picture as well. Yes, yes, I get the plight of the cheese graters... yet there also must be other ApolloSF/Windows users who are as eager as I am to promptly dole out serious coin for an Apollo 8 - provided it can somehow be supported on Windows 10.

I hear ya, and it would be a travesty if they did a Apogee/MOTU on you....

I don't see why any forward thinking company would want to exclude (any share of the) market

hey Geno, ah whats that got to do with console 2 on firewire ?
I believe if FW would support Console 2.0 and the daisy chaining of units, UA would have released it with the latest release. I suspect that they are working on a new connectivity for Windows users now that Windows 10 is out, that will support Console 2.0 and all of its "Expanded" features. I could be wrong but there would be no reason to withhold it otherwise in my mind. I am open to be corrected.

Right, they've been saying Fall 2015 since the release of Console 2.0 in January, yet here we are....only 38 days left of Fall... THE WAITING GAME IS KILLING ME!! Anyone hear of a closer, more tangible release date?

I don't even care if cascading isn't supported for firewire (with their firewire reputation it would be terrible anyways), I just want that new UI and their claimed 25+ new user-requested features. Console v1 is a boat anchor...I mean c'mon, zero plugin-list organization, and manually copy and pasting inserts from channel to channel? Who's not sick of that archaic maneuver?!? It's sad that they pump all of their development into new plugs, yet make their current users wait almost a year now for their software update..

Apparently Windows usb support was stack ranked higher than taking care of UA's most loyal long time customer base (i.e. Apollo FW users). And now that they are invested in the Microsoft slow train, everyone else is just gonna have to sit on their hands and expect innovation and stability to move at the pace of...well I won't name names. Or maybe I will - let's just say this won't be the last time dates slip if we are dependent on cooperation from Microsoft before UA takes care of its core customers. I'm severely annoyed that console 2.0 for FW has been such a low priority considering most of its features came from suggestions from Apollo FW users. Don't forget who your core customers are UA...it's a slippery slope. I love your products, but I don't like being tied to a boat anchor or deprioritized for what will end up being over a year. We'vd been very patient for what was already a way too long timeline, and now that it has slipped another 3-6 months I'm pretty annoyed. UA is an excellent company, and this is really only strike one for me...but don't forget who your best marketers are because we know when we've been forgotten.

I'm considering buying a apollo quad firewire (don't really need the new blackface for my needs) but the absence of Console 2.0 software is a turn-off for me!
