New Reverb plugin coming - any guesses?

I read a post on a different forum from a beta tester that he is testing a new reverb plugin. Any guesses on what its going to be?

Here is a link to the thread: http://www.vi-control.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40383&highlight=spat#bottom

That said, I am fooling around right now with a Broadway Big Band trumpet (very dry) and the Oceanway plug-in in "re-mic" mode sending to a UAD reverb I am beta testing, so I cannot name it, and I think I am getting pretty close to the Sample Modeling sound with Spat in that demo.

The RMX-16 is the obvious choice, but there were two other reverbs in the UA rack - Roland R-880 and Lexicon PCM-60.

Personaly I feel that EMT250 and Lex224 are more than enough digital reverbs emulations.
More I'm reading about Neve RMX, and less I'm thinking I will buy it : lot od people refer to the AMS RMX16 as the famous reverb used on the Phil Collins "in the air tonight" drums....
Welll.... I have to admit I'm really not a fan of this kind of sound ...
My dreams go for Springreverb box ( Akg BX20 , ) and live echo chambers ( and a MK2 of RE-201 and EMT140 ).
It would be amazing to get an accurate replication of 8 echo chambers of Capitol studios, the 2 from Ocean Ways, the one in Zappa's studio, ect....

I'd love a PCM 60 (or 70).

As an aside, on speculative things I'm either silent (if I know the answer), guessing, or permitted. You get to decide. ;)

The way you feel about the RMX16, that's a bit like how I felt about the EMT250 before it was released. I already had the Powercore DVR2 and honestly didn't love it, so I really didn't think it the EMT250 would do much for me. Now it's my the one I use on nearly every single vocal.

btw, we've been using my old REV7 (similar to the Roland R-880) as a headphone reverb and boy is that not even close to the EMT250 for vocals.

PCm70 would be one more worth doing for sure Matt. i remember using one 20 years ago...i still remember how smooth and warm it sounded.

the lineup would certainly benefit from at least one more Lexicon. especially whilst the Lexicon contract is still open...

Besides the AMX16, there's supposed to be another reverb coming that will better complement the current UAD plugins better than any Lexicon I can think of. I'm not allowed to say what it is but I think the only reverb anyone could possibly want after this will be a Bricasti.

The newer Lexicons are all very well covered by native plugins, anyway.

I like EMT250 a lot too but don't you think this sound is an exception in the world of the Digital Reverbs ?
Lexicon224 is an another one you can put aside , even if you compare it to PCM series ( and that's make me thinking UA has made a very very smart choice with these 2 devices )

Do you really thinking that there is a chance you will to be taken by surprised by a RMX16 as you were by the EMT250 ?

Bricasti M7 ( as far as I heard from it ) could be a game changer but it looks like near impossible to emulate with a generalist computers

I get no worries about PCM series which are fantastics ( their native plugs too ) but they simply do not fit my needs as well as 224 or EMT250

Hope it's an AKG Spring - that's the only reverb category they're missing that I can think of.
Hope your hope will come true in few days ;)

Yeah my reverb tastes are just identical, Shimel, +1 on everything you said. I do like the 224 and 250 a lot, I guess because they're early digital reverbs, but I get suspicious of anything from the 80s reverb era, including the RMX-16 - anyone know some classic sounds from it other than "In the Air Tonight"?

I thought this was funny from a thread I was just reading about Weezer's Blue album:

"There were NO REVERBS OR DELAYS at all on the record (The sole exception being a long delay used to extend one of the feedback parts on Only in Dreams). Ocasionally I used a stereo delay from the Lexicon 300 to delay the room mics slightly to get a little more slap. The band used to come into the control room at the start of the day and turn off all of the delay / reverb based outboard gear."
