Selling UAD-1 cards?

So...I have 3 UAD-1 cards sitting on the shelf now.
I see that people still sell/buy these on eBay.

I read the FAQ and see that you can't transfer ownership of the Plugs any more and that new Authorization files won't be issued.

So what happens if some one buys my cards?
Are they paperweights?
Or can they install them to beef up an existing system?
Do I need to give them my old authorization file to install them?

From what I understand they are paperweights. I have a pair of them that are about to get tossed in the e-waste bin myself.

Yes, you give them your old authorization file with the cards and they will need to keep and safeguard it as UA no
longer does transfers or creates fresh authorization files for the discontinued UAD-1 cards. The UAD-1 cards should
continue to work and function on any compatible OS & PCI slot system. They will need to use UAD v6.1 or earlier which
can still be downloaded from the UA website.

Cheers,

Are you selling card or plugins? Two different things.

There has never been any authorization for Core plugins, so if you are selling UAD-1 cards its biz as usual. If there are plugins involved thats a different story.

Are they paperweights?
Not at all.
Or can they install them to beef up an existing system?
Yep.
Do I need to give them my old authorization file to install them?
Nope. Only if you are transferring plugins.
