BF Sale on Unison Telling Sign?

Noticed the promo and positioning highlighting the sale on the "flagship" unison plugins.

I think thats smart as it gets you onto one of the cool benefits of the Apollo's and once you appreciate it you want more and if you dont have an Apollo you somehow feel like your missing something.

And for me as an Apollo owner I hope its suggestive that they are going to widen the pre's and guitar amps/pedals even more.

As a home ITB'er I feel fortunate to get that impedance load effect in my small home setup.

Bring more Unison and port over all the amps to unison while your at it.

Some of us with PC's are still waiting for Thunderbolt...

Too bad really.

Maybe UA will modify the UAD2 cards to be Apollo interfaces.

Thunderbolt I don't have, but there is an available PCIe slot here waiting...

Now that there's the free Satellite deal, I'm going to replace my modded silver Apollo 16 with an Apollo 8. The Unison pre's are the main reason I want to switch.

Glad you're getting that deal and unison. I just got a Duo (the first UAD card that I haven't bought from you actually - but only cos I'm not stateside atm). Recording with the 1073 as the pre was a fun experience. Adjusting the impedance and the gain made me reminiscent of using analogue gear (which I haven't done for years).
Happy Recording,
Duncan

Once again the focus is on the unison technology. No love for people already having real hardware worldclass preamps and UAD PCI-e solution.

Do your real hardware worldclass preamps have adjustable input impedance? There are some that do. The reason I know is because I have a couple of them.

Wait what? I thought the silverface apollos had unison preamps in them. I mean when I record through my Neve 1073, according to the youtube promovideo it has "unison technology" right? Or was that song a lie?

edit: I'm sorry - I see you were talking about a different silverface apollo with no mic pres. Sorry!

Hopefully they keep this unison technology fresh release a few new ones a year. I'm still gonna jump into the 500 series tho

The Unison feature is such a small thing in those plugins in my opinion. I use the 88RS and API Vision way more for mixing than for tracking. They are two of the best software channel strips on the market in my opinion, and having world class preamps doesn't change that. Of course, no love for those with high end british consoles. :)
