Hi,

I'm in the market for a Mastering EQ plugin (electronic music like techno and deephouse).

These caught my eye:
-Dangerous BAX EQ Collection
-Millennia NSEQ-2 EQ
-Chandler Limited Curve Bender Mastering EQ
-Kush Hammer EQ

Any other (UAD or Native) suggestions? (I allready own Brainworx bx_digital V3 btw)
Thanks!

To this point I have used Pultecs but you raise a nice question.

I demoed the Tonelux Tilt and that was a nice enhancement, but that is not what you are asking for. I am using Ozone 6 and Pultecs for EQ at the moment.

Presuming your using Brainworx for surgical ? ( I use Fabfilter) For sweetening and sheen the ones you mentioned are all nice. I personally like the UAD BAX and T racks 432. Its a very smooth and detailed combination. I am demoing the new Kush Hammer it is also very sweet. Include the UAD Massenburg, Pultec's, T-racks-432, some like the Manley Massive Passive. Really demo as many of them and combinations of and let your ears and tastes decide for you.

Hi,

-Chandler Limited Curve Bender Mastering EQ

There are two EQ's that I use on 99.9% of all mastering projects: the Brainworx bx_digital V2 (I'll get the V3 at some point... probably), and the Chandler Limited Curve Bender.

Some will prefer the sound of the Manley Massive Passive to the Curve Bender, but I'm not one of those people. I would lean toward using the Massive Passive on individual tracks, and the the Curve Bender on a Mastering session (over an entire finished mix). To me, it sounds a bit more pleasing and has a touch more depth that the Manley.

Other than those two EQ's, I don't really ever need anything else. Although, sometimes I will put the mkII UAD Pultec EQP-1A into the chain to add its sound (without any adjustments most of the time, just instantiating it is a beautiful thing)

A lot of good options here ...
If you need to keep your DSP's for other tasks they are good ones in the native world :
Already mentioned PI alliance BAX ( don't like Millenia ), T-racks 432 , Softube TubeTech are very serious tools

If you want it by UAD, i think Manley Massive Passive is a must have
Not to say Chandler Curve Bender is not a very good option too but I think all depends what is the specific aim you need to do :
Fix some balance issues is asking EQ task that is probably not the same as you need to improve / color an already good balanced mix
I believe Manley MP has more strength for fixing than Chandler
But this is not rigid rules :
Sometimes BAX could give you best / faster results to solve some problems than Massive Passive
On other hand Massive Passive can sometimes bring some little shine to a mix that you can't get with another EQ.
Get them all ! ;)
