I like the 31102 also. The only improvement would be a larger gui. Actually it would be great if UA would make all the Gui's sizable. But don't bother with that until Console 2 has Control Surface support!31102 is a 1084, essentially. Fantastic EQ. 1081 is one of the world's favorite EQs. Hard choice. I'd probably give the 31102 the edge *unless* you have the 1073 mk II. If so, get the 1081.
Considering the unison preamps you already have, and assuming you only have the apollo twin duo (i.e. no other DSP chips) I would probably give the 88RS a miss. It's best for mixing IMO, the EQ is fantastic, but 2 DSP chips isn't enough to make the most of it. I do use it for tracking through with my Apollo sometimes, but as you have the 610, 1073 and vision I wouldn't say you need it. If you're planning to add more DSP it might be worth it though.I need your advice regarding this new sale. My last purchase was a custom 3 bundle. So I chose API Vision, API 2500 and Studer. Last week I received a 50 € coupon and I almost bought Cooper delay (I love it but never bought it!). Now there is this NEVE sale… hum! I don‘t have NEVE 88RS in my collection, my channel strips are UA 610, API Vision and NEVE 1073. I use Apollo Twin Duo (love this piece of gear, fantastic for my work flow but have the dsp problem). I‘m going to demo 88RS next week. The instrument that I record a lot is acoustic guitar, mainly fingerpicking. Do you think that 88RS is a wise choice?
Thank you!!!!!!!
31102 was one of my two favorite UAD EQ's before the current range of MK2's came out. However, since the MK2's, I no longer use it.31102 or 1081? Cannot decide....
Was that a coupon for buying some UAD hardware (like an Apollo Twin for example) or is that a typical thank you coupon? Just curious what people are getting... (You can tell since I'm asking that I didn't get one yet...)50 € coupon and I want to use it but... can not decide!
Yeah I have the 1073 mkii and its quite something.31102 was one of my two favorite UAD EQ's before the current range of MK2's came out. However, since the MK2's, I no longer use it.
I now use the Pultec MK2 instead of the 31102. They're obviously very different plugins - I often have to use Bax together with the Pultec to get the same flexibility - but I think the end result is worth it.Yeah I have the 1073 mkii and its quite something.
I dont have enough cores though to use it on many tracks.
Figured that maybe the 31102 would be nice due to the instance count I would get.
