Really looking forward to this one! Writing drum parts with Ez Drummer couldn't get much easier. Now its going to be easy with awesome drum sounds.

I am! Long time EZ/SD user.. Like a lot of folks I write the part in EZD then use SD to play the part...

I purchased an external 1 TB SSD and moved all my existing EZ2 and SD2 libraries (and my keyboard sampled VI's) over in anticipation of accommodating the additional over 200 gb download for SD3. Up until now I have kept everything on my internal 1 TB. I realize a bulk of the 200+ gb is for surround but Toontrack informed me that the bleed from these additional channels will add to realism even for stereo setup.

How is that for anticipation of the release...

Nice, I'll be doing the same on a 2 TB 7200 rpm internal drive. I've done 1TB SSD's upgrades on my system drives but the 2 TB SSD is just to expensive right now. Hopefully the 7200 internal will be fast enough!

I have a coupon code that I can share privately, but was asked not to post publicly. Pretty good discount. I have SD2 myself. PM or email me if you want it.

I couldn't be more excited. I use it all sorts of ways--either programming or playing it directly with my V-Drums. Since I don't have a way to record real drums (or have a real acoustic drumset) where I live, SD is indispensable to me. SD2 has been out forever, so it's nice to see that SD3 will have so many useful features and just make the whole workflow much easier. I was very pleased to see everything they added. I plan to start using is ASAP since I have 3 different albums I'm trying to finish!

I have a lot of the EZD and SDX, like around 80% of them. I'm not the best drummer (I mainly play guitar, bass and keys), but I do a lot of different genres, so it's an amazing tool in my arsenal.

I have SD2, but just read the "upgrade" to SD3 is $200 -- seems fair, but I may have to wait a while before plunking that down since I really don't have any problems with SD2 at this point. Would definitely like to try out some of the new microphone selections that they've included in SD3 - very nice, indeed!

Been using the Toontrack drums extensively since the Drums From Hell came out ...so yeah, I count the minutes :p
And have just reserved space on my 1TB SSD for it!

I'll be ordering Superior Drummer 3 this week but I have an install question:

Looking at my specs below, am I better off installing Superior Drummer 3 on my PC Slave via VePro6 or just install it on my host computer iMac thunderbolt SSD drive. EZ Drummer 2 is on my iMac SSD drive but I know SD3 is a lot more CPU intensive.

Advice much appreciated!

I have a 2012 2.3GHz Quad MacBook Pro with only 8GB RAM and a USB3 7200RPM drive, so you are blowing mine away in specs. It runs just fine but does use a lot more resources than EZD2 does. I had to increase my buffer settings was all (so far).

I'm on the 4th day of downloading which is now the surround mics. I am able to check out the Core library. The features are over the top and I do love the program but I will say I have yet to hear an SD3 kit that sounds as good as the Avatar/Natural in SD2. Still in discovery mode though.

Wow--I thought all the SD3 kits blew that one away by a country mile. Maybe you were testing them without any of the room/ambience mics installed yet? That makes a huge difference, I will say that.

I am hoping so. I am on my last download. I did create my own kit that I liked much better than the stock ones so either way I'm stoked.

Do you think it would be better to install the different mic sections on 2 or more SSD drives for better performance? Has anyone tried that?
