Using 2 different users' UAD devices at once?

Hi everyone. I sent this as a request to support, but figured I would ask here as well.

I have a Satellite Duo, and a regular mixing client of mine has an Apollo Twin interface.

My client owns licenses for a few plugins that I do not. He'd like to use his plug-ins when we mix at my studio. I'd rather not purchase my own licenses for the plug-ins he uses at this time.

So... is it possible to use my Satellite and his Apollo Twin at once, on the same computer, and therefore have access to each users' individual plugins at the same time? Or will the UAD Console software barf at me?

Thanks!

Hey Matthew,

It's not a good idea to mix UAD from different systems/users in the same system. You don't really have control over where a plug-in lands so it's entirely probably that a plug-in that's authorized on your system will try to load on his system where it's not authorized and you'll get an error that could disrupt both Satellites.

It's probably better to find your common ground and go from there. Better in case you want to work independently on the same session as well.

Hope that helps!

HI!
I didn't know this. As a matter of fact I sometimes mix at a producer's studio that has an OCTO and I tale my QUAD there to have more power. Never an issue.
But it seems I must avoid this?

Will this change with Apollo Expanded? Producers collaborate on shared systems all the time, it would be great to use all plugins under one umbrella.
