Dead Funk

Hi Guys, here's a new one I just finished up. Bluesy Jam with a bit of a Funk vibe and a crazy synth solo at the end.

Used a bunch of UA plugs including 1073, 1176, ATR-102, Ocean Way, Ampeg SVT, UA610, Lexicon 224, and others.

Sounds good! Can you tell us about drum recording/treatment?

The drums were done with The Logic Drummer. I use Logic Drummer to get as close to what I have in mind for the drums. Then I start tracking guitar, bass etc. After I get most of the tracks recorded, I will change the Logic Drum track to midi notes. From there I will customize the drums to get the beats, kicks, fills and symbol hits in the right spots. It's a bit of a tedious process but is the best I have come up with for real sounding drums through my DAW. As far as processing, I use the producer kits which allow you to have all the drums, overheads etc. on different tracks. Then I can EQ, limit and or effect each track as needed.
