ground loop help?

I just moved to a new house and started to hook up the equipment in my home studio and i am getting unwanted hum noise through my speakers. I have an Apollo Twin Duo connected via Thunderbolt to my Imac. I also use a Golden Age Preamp 73 MKII sometimes connected to my Apollo via the Hi-Z imput. My hum comes when plug in the 1/4" TRS cable from the GAP 73 output to the Apollo Twin Hi-Z. If i record directly to the Apollo i get no hum from my mic. Im not sure if just need to lift the ground on my GAP 73 or not. Where i had the studio hooked up last i never had this hum. I have tried unplugging everything and plugging things in one by one, i have all monitors, imac, preamp and monitors on the same surge protecting powerbar. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Quick Question. Why are you plugging your mic pre into the Hi-Z input instead of the line inputs on the back?

I think you answered your own question. Don't use the hi-z input for connecting a mic pre. You really only want to use that for guitars, bass or synths. Plug the GAP into the line in on the back with a trs cable.

As a side note, I find that The Apollo preamps with unison sound better than most preamps that aren't high end So you may find that the GAP is unnecessary.
