Hardware Transfer Question

I'm getting ready to sell my Apollo TB Quad and am trying to figure out what will be included for the new buyer if I don't transfer my plugins. I understand the Analog Classics bundle will be included but are either of the UA 610 Mic Pre plugs included? Am I missing anything else?

Thanks,

Joe

It's confusing since the AC bundle for Apollo is different (I think 610A? Some Softube amps too?), then Octos got some extra(s) too (the 610A definitely).

Gannon, any possibility of a confirmation so we can Sticky this?
Sure.

When someone sells an Apollo, the new owner automatically gets the Analog Classics Plus Bundle, which includes the UA610-B.

The seller also retains those licenses and a new set is given to the new owner.

So, they don't really travel with the device as is the case with paid plug-ins, but they are granted as new licenses for the new owner.

Hope that helps!

I think he means the ones you buy are on your devices so if you sell a device you need to decide to transfer with all paid plugs or none ?

Exactly. When you sell your Apollo, you decide if you're going to sell your plug-ins with it or not. Aside from the bundle that ships with the unit, all other plug-ins are paid for and the licenses belong to you. So, you get to decide if you're going to retain the licenses and use them with another piece of UA gear or sell all of them to the new owner.

Hope that helps!

When I bought an Apollo last June, the 610B came with it. I wonder if from time to time UA changes what is in the classic bundle.

I am interested in purchasing a used Apollo Twin Duo from Guitar Center who is an authorized retailer. From my conversations with them, they bought the units without the hardware license being transferred to them. Is it possible to have the license directly transferred to me if I can provide proof of purchase?

Tricky. They may have some kind of arrangement with UA. Normally, no. Definitely reach out to UA's customer service.

Be Careful with Guitar Center, years ago they had similar problems with Creamware Pulsar/Scope cards they were selling that were marked NFR (Not For Resale) ! They were Demo units that were loaned to guitar center.
They were never supposed to sell them in the first place. Be sure and check with UA CS before buying these units !

Signals in a device chain always travel from left to right. You can drop audio effects in at any point in an audio track's device chain, keeping in mind that ..... are unique for each instance of a given plug-in in your Set, and are saved with the Set.

To memorialize the protocol for this (from my email exchange with UA Support):

The unit must be in your physical possession and you must generate a detailed system profile and send to them. They did not say it was guaranteed they could transfer in all cases, just that this was how you begin the process.

Honestly, I'm mostly irritated at Guitar Center for selling these units as if they are fully functioning when in actuality the end-user may not get a working unit (at least, working in the UA world). The sales rep seemed to be under the impression that the software was akin to the "Lite" version of Ableton Live or Cubase or something - I tried to explain that without the licensing these things are extremely overpriced and somewhat pointless to own. I guess I shouldn't be surprised at GC...

I have a PCIE AUD2 Solo card I'd like to sell, but have a slew of Thunderbolt DSPs and not interested in selling my plugins. I'm curious if UAD honors the person to whom the hardware is transferred the most fundamental legacy plugins, once they register the hardware, like RealVerb, legacy 1176, legacy LA-2A, etc., because if so, I'd like to detail, in my Ebay post what plugins will come with the hardware transfer.

Thanks in advance for any knowledge and experience on this process!!

I recently purchased an Apollo Twin USB (brand new, from an authorized dealer) and I also picked up the Ultimate Bundle through UA's store. I now want to return the Twin USB since I cannot get it working stably on my Dell laptop. I wonder if the Twin USB and my Ultimate Bundle can somehow be separated from each other if I return the Twin unit? I'd like to keep my Ultimate Bundle since I intend to switch over to a Mac/Thunderbolt-based system. I've contacted UA support, but while I wait to hear back I just thought I'd check here to see if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks!

You/CS can transfer the ownership of the twin back to the store with only the plugs that came with it. You indicate in the transfer screen that you want to retain the plugs in you purchased by not selecting "all" plugs ins being transferred.

How can I move devices within the account ??

Hello. I have been using the UAD account for many years. I saw an opportunity to create 3 systems inside the account. How can I move devices within the account and how to configure the sets of plug-ins for different systems.
