Console 2.0 - Cant record send effects when UAD record button selected

    Hi All,

So trying to figure out how to get this to work, but I can't seem to record the effect (In this case RealverbPro) on the unison signal when recording into my DAW. I thought it was supposed to be as easy as making sure UAD Rec button is selected, but everytime I record it's just the dry signal (Through the unison pre slot - Neve 88RS). I can hear the reverb in my headphones but the resulting recording is dry.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? Attached is a screenshot of my console settings.

You can see the send fader is up. Not sure if I''m missing something here?

    Thanks

Your reverb is not on the track!

You have a reverb on an aux channel; that's why isn't not printing to track. It's not on the track you're printing. If you want to record that reverb you can make a new track in your DAW and assign its input to Aux 1. This will record the reverb return alongside your dry vocal. Or put the reverb plugin in the channel you're recording, then it will print to the track, just like your 88rs is printing to the track. (use the wet/dry slider in Realverb Pro to control how much reverb in that case)

I also notice you have two 88rs instances on that third channel... One 88rs channel wasn't enough for you, eh? hehehe...

AAahhhhh... THANK YOU!! I THOUGHT the UAD Rec button allowed me to record what was on the Aux 1 or 2 insets, not record or disable the actual TRACK inserts. I could have sworn I saw a video where this was talking about recording Aux insert effects, and not the track effects.

Oh well... it still accomplishes what I want to do. On your point above around recording just the reverb to aux 1... i'm using logic x. How do i assign the input of a new channel to consoles Aux 1? I can only see my Apollo's inputs (1-20 etc) but no option to record the Aux channel.

Sorry for the noob questions, I REALLY appreciate your help

That UAD REC and MON button is global for all the channels - it will toggle all channels between REC and MON. You can then individually change individual tracks independently. I think perhaps that the aux returns will just follow the global setting - it doesn't look like they have an individual toggle.

Thanks, it seems AUX inserts are not part of the global all or nothing REC or MON toggle. I tried to record the Aux insert effect but the recording came out dry.

Were you able to assign the aux as an input to a DAW channel succesfully? Still no effect on the resulting audio?

Hi there. I often track what's coming off the auxes into pro tools. Set up two stereo audio tracks in you daw and select the aux inputs as input and hit record

I'm stuck on how to accomplish this. I use Logic X, and can't find the right input to record in the Aux 1 (Reverb). Do you know if its known as another input, or a setting I need to toggle somewhere?

    Thank you for the help!

I'm using Logic X, I can't see Aux 1 in my input selection list. I have the Apollo set as my sound card in/out obviously, but I don't see where Aux 1 is there?

Perhaps the auxes need to be presented in the core audio driver, or in some setup dialog in Logic (sorry, don't use Logic much...) I can certainly find them in Reaper and Protools.
