WINDOWS 1607 APOLLO TWIN USB- Windows 10 Enforces Unsigned Driver Ban

As many have heard the UA Apollo Twin Duo USB still doesn't have updated signed drivers for Windows 1607 Update after 3 MONTHS NOW. I talked on the phone with UAD countless times and honestly feel like I should just give up and move on and take my business elsewhere.
I gave UAD a lot of my money over the years and I honestly feel shafted, they haven't provided even a slit of info regarding this in the meantime all their other users are content as they aren't having these issues if they're on Windows 10 (pre 1607 update build)

My Apollo doesn't work, it's a $900 paperweight at this point.

On this: Windows 10 Enforces Unsigned Driver Ban with new 1607 Update
"Windows 10 Anniversary Update (version 1607) is out now and the new iteration introduces a security feature promised by Microsoft before the operating system’s release last year. Effective as of the 1607 update, Windows 10 will no longer load unsigned kernel mode drivers in an effort to prevent users from accidentally installing malicious software. The delay in implementing the policy was, according to Microsoft, “due to technical and ecosystem readiness issues, this was not enforced by Windows Code Integrity and remained only a policy statement.”

Only newly installed drivers will be subject to this prohibition, so unsigned drivers installed in Windows 10 prior to the 1607 update will be unaffected. Fresh installations of Windows 10 Anniversary Update, though, will implement the policy immediately.

“Starting with new installations of Windows 10, version 1607, the previously defined driver signing rules will be enforced by the operating system,” Microsoft writes on its blog, “and Windows 10, version 1607 will not load any new kernel mode drivers which are not signed by the Dev Portal. OS signing enforcement is only for new OS installations; systems upgraded from an earlier OS to Windows 10, version 1607 will not be affected by this change.”

In order for a driver to become signed, it must be submitted to Microsoft, via the Dev Portal, for approval, and its developer must obtain an Extended Validation (EV) Code Signing Certificate. The process is a mere formality for established software development companies, but drivers developed by independent creators or older programs with expired certificates are likely to become locked out in Windows 10."

I understand what Microsoft did to 3rd party companies (dropping the signed driver necessity) is shitty, but it's been 3 months now and other audio interface's are working fine on the new 1607 update. I always thought UAD were supposed to be the class leaders, but it's not looking like it with these heavily delayed updates and minimal contact with their customer base.

We need a fix, please comment below if you struggle with this issue so UAD can really see how widespread this is. We need to get people involved and get ua to fix their unsigned drivers for W10 1607. This is effecting me and many other business owners I know.

same problem. have to start windows twice to activate unsigned drivers. then restart windows to be able to play rainbow six cause it doesnt allow unsigned policy. )))
pls uad fix this problem. the device is currently to be defined as "not working" under win10 latest version. (if u know the trick well u make it work but i dont buy 800 euro hardware to use tricks to make it run)

this should be priority nr1! apollo +windows10 = not working!
legally i could send it back and get my money back. no problem.
u are just lucky that this device is awesome when it works.

    Hi Groovybytes,

We are working on our driver signing process but I don't have a lot to share. We thought we were completely compliant with UAD v9.0, however, it turns out we have more systems to put in place to complete the process.

As a workaround, our drivers pass when Secure Boot is disabled in the BIOS. Disabling Secure Boot is less risky than turning off driver signing, so we recommend it over the other solution. It's certainly not the ideal solution and not intended to be permanent, but it will have to suffice for now.

Thanks for letting us know and I'll update you when we have more info to share.

    Best regards,

I also have this same issue with Windows 10 1607 update. My motherboard doesn't look like it has an option for secure boot from what I have looked at myself and googled. I had the UAD Twin Duo Thunderbolt and it was amazing. Having just purchased the USB version to work with my PC, I am disappointed that the only way I can use it is to reboot multiple times and disable driver signing.

Please fix this. I spent a fair amount of money (twice!) because you make an excellent product when it works Thank you!

    Have you tried this?

It might be the workaround for you for the time being... Make sure you are NOT connected to the internet while you are in testmode!

    Thank you for your inquiry.

Unfortunately, we have no specific update information available at this time. I recommended checking our downloads page over the next couple of weeks. Also, be sure you are signed up for notifications in your My.Uaudio account.
Apologies for the inconvenience, this is a known issue, and we are actively working to get this resolved as soon as possible.

I have spent too much money on the UAD Apollo Twin Duo USB 3 and about 30 plugins. Cant even use this and have not been able to for about a week now. UAD just expects us to sit and wait and be patient while they get things figured out I guess.
I really think they should be giving away a plugin to the people who this is affecting or am I out of line for losing patients.

Just disable secure boot in the meantime and get work done. This is similar to what many vendors have been recommending for Mac users with disabling SIP.

I am not pc smart enough to navigate through menus trying to figure out how do disable this and that. I am afraid I will screw up my PC.
I am forced to wait unfortunately.
I hope UA understands that this is taking money from my pocket. Its to the point where its forcing me to take a long hard look at Waves Audio products.
