    Apollo Twin Click issue

OK, so every once in a while someone says that they hear clicks when listening to music or doing projects or whatever. But what I have is a different problem, it happens when I close youtube video or audio file on my PC, I hear a fairly loud click, and it's shown on output meter as well. It's not clocking issue, I have it set to internal. I'm completely baffled. To make things interesting, it doesn't happen every time, it usually happens just once at a random time after I turn on computer, and then it doesn't happen anymore. Sometimes the click appears only on left speaker. Could it be Apollo Twin's hardware fault? Has ANYONE had this problem, where there's click when there's NO music?

Man, am I glad you made this post. I've been trying to figure out this exact (and I mean exact, down to the left channel part of it) issue for months, but between the extended setup I have and the intermittence of the issue, I've gotten nowhere on figuring it out. Now that I know it's (possibly) isolated to the Twin, I'll see if I can't figure it out this weekend. Meanwhile, can you share your setup?

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one having this issue, I was beginning to go crazy lol. Anyway, it happens on every setup I use, but the most common one is: PC with i7 4790k processor, 16GB RAM DDR3, 120GB SSD, 1TB HDD and 1TB external drive, Windows 10 x64 1607 and Apollo Twin USB going into Yamaha HS7's. I was beginning to think that my Twin is faulty, but seeing as you have exact same problem as me, it may be related to something other? Did you experience any other anomalies apart from that?

Kimi, what drivers are your motherboard using for the various USB ports?

It happens to me from time to time.. with the latest drivers of my z170 Asus mobo it happens less often and when it happens it's not so loud.. it's a driver problem it seems.. chipset or USB 3.0 or the UA driver.. hope they'll fix it soon.

Doubtful it's a Chipset/USB driver as I'm on Thunderbolt on a Mac. Here's what I have discovered over the past few days.

    1. Removing the Twin from my setup removed the click.
    2. Using the Twin by itself removed the click. (Granted, when I was using the Twin alone I was in a different location and also didn't have my HS8's in the mix. Additionally, I was using a completely different Thunderbolt cable.)

I'll do some more testing tomorrow after reintegrating the Twin and report back.

EDIT - Looks like I spoke too soon. Just had the click on the left channel in the setup without the Twin. More tomorrow.
