I know CRAZY right. This is what made me sell my Quad Apollo....I saw it was a dead product. Fully functional but no more software development

And the price was crazy low.......

Console V2 was released March last year! Where the hell is it for firewire macs?

    Gannon confirmed its status:

"Console 2.0 software for single-unit Apollo FireWire systems is now in beta, with a target release of November 2016. We appreciate the massive patience our FireWire users have extended us, as this was indeed a very complex driver-level development effort for our product team. Please stay tuned. It really is right around the corner, and its proving to be strong and stable in our extensive testing."

Which is a crippled version of the console 2.0 update! He snuck it in there single unit systems, and Apollo expanded was a huge feature of console 2.0... This is sad and I have lost faith in UA. I can't even use new plugs I purchased due to them being locked to the OS X. I can't even use my new Mac with my UAD system. Sad I can't even install tb card and use with new Mac No release for AES and no release for Namm this year what is UAD doing seriously? Oh the UAD people are on vacation in the middle of October? What is UA doing? You think I'm going to spend more money in a system I have spent $4-5 thousand on, my SF Apollo cost the same as the TB BF, why is my product less feature rich and incompatible with new Mac OS? 3-4 months before I can safely use my interface with new Mac... I guess UAD likes vintage computers too Sad that this is what made me join this forum. UAD has totally dropped the ball. I love that the company I invested into deems my interface connection not important for standard implemented features available on same priced systems with different connect protocol TB vs FW. Sincerely hope UA/ UAD gets their act together. Plugin in pricing is absurd, plus we fork out the cost for outdated dsp! Ooooo I can run 4 instances on my quad of the new NeveChildChannel in mono woohooo Buy the NeveChildChannel for $349 today!

Fine print : The NeveChildChannel is a UAD 2 powered plugin that requires a $1899 Octo, $1000 Quad, or $2499-$2999 interface for use.

UA isn't sitting on their laurels. Their site posted that they'll have basic Sierra support shortly (next month). UA doesn't typically show at AES. They show at NAMM and Messe, normally. I can't recall whether they had a NAMM release.

I think everyone kind of underestimated the amount of work and demand in porting a setup designed for an entirely different protocol (trying to get some semblance of TB functionality to FW for Console 2). UA has been apologizing for that for a while and I'm sure they'll make it right. I also wish there was multi unit support out the gate, but I expect it will come down the pipe.

Speaking of that, what do you think will drop in November? I think it will be a pretty big release from a maintenance standpoint alone. Let's not forget that there's not been a release without new plugins...

Its kind of odd when people quote list prices as if there aren't deals out there and don't mention the great plug in savings that are also attached to many hardware sales ?

I paid 2 grand for my blackface quad over a year ago and got a $1050 coupon when I bought my octo, so literally a $16-1700 savings.

I also got the neve 88rs for around $100 with coupons. Only the impatient pay full list

I have a feeling the next UA release could be big

    Thanks, Matt -

Yes, we're working on Sierra and will have basic compatibility next month along with single-unit Console 2.0 for FireWire Mac and Windows.

Console 2.0 mutl-unit will follow as well, but it's going to take a little longer than single-unit.

We're doing our best to get these updates and more out as quickly as possible, so thanks for your continued patience!

I don't think there will be the multi unit support for FW....a few years ago, maybe.....but not now. With the limited bandwidth (compared to TB) it's probably even more difficult.

There is no future in it....it's dead. Its TB or bust in UA's mind.
