Yikes. Maybe say this to yourself. "I've learned my lesson here and will no longer be bored and tempted to upgrade my entire OS on day ever again. No matter how shiny and new it looks"

Who in their clear mind, especially if your livelihood depends on a working system, would upgrade into version 1 of a new OS without being 100% certain it works well with all your tools. And really. what would even be the incentive? So you can use apple pay from your computer? And who in their clear minds would upgrade to a new OS and not have a carbon copy drive of the pre upgrade you could easily roll back to? Sorry to be a bit harsh.

We have 3 computer set-ups in the studio with various digital workstations for recording and editing. The only thing preventing us from using the Apollo 8 room is UAD. We want to use Sierra, because it's newer, better, faster and a more stable operating system than El Capitan on our computers here. I think it is very reasonable to expect software companies to keep up with the demands that confront them and be timely about driver releases. It's ridiculous to make excuses. I certainly don't get to make them with my clients and I would think a company that bases itself on professionalism would back up their word.

As to the comment about Sweetwater's list of compatible software, when has Sweetwater ever been the last word on anything musical? I ran my own tests in a real world setting and I can tell you, that aside from UAD's FAILURE for compliance, everything else is fine. We are looking into Apogee replacements for the Apollo 8 and will no longer purchase any UAD products.

While most companies take pride in their products and they are already working on Sierra. UAD takes pride in taking months and months to get up to speed. Whether or not the other software companies are willing to give their product complete compatibility from a company standpoint; their products are working fine on Sierra. So, without UAD you can happily upgrade to Sierra, is the correct answer. Only UAD is lagging behind the rest of the music world.

What is happening now can happen again. Every time a new OS arrive some company would find themselves trailing behind.
No company is advising me to stay primitive. I am to move forward until i am satisfied as I am now with Protools 12.4 and my

In the 5 years or so I have been here, I still find it unfortunate that some , who seem to have a lot of expertise, apparently only come here to grind a particular axe, (customer service lags, delays in receiving free satellites, Sierra, etc.), yet make little positive contribution. I guess it comes down to seeing this as a community to support constructively rather than as a platform ??

I could not agree more. I mean we all have things to complain about, but when someone goes on a rant and say's its over, its over! I've been upset with UA myself at times and have even contemplated leaving also. But the sad truth is there is really no other solution out there quite like UA ! Muzikman you may go with Apogee and I wish you luck, but there will be lots of plugins you can't replace!
