just click on the pic and it will enlargeI can't see picture of your plugins you have already. But I would recommend the bax dangerous eq. Adds a depth to my mix. One of my favorites. I primarily mixing hip-hop and R&B. Good luck!

That costs $250! I'm looking to spend just the $100, maybe a few bucks more. Thanks.Vertigo Sound VSM-3 ALL THE WAYyyyyyy This makes up all the "sweetness" gap in what you want tape to do.
OCEAN WAY. I know it's more than you're thinking to spend, but if you're short on mics for your drums then there's no better plug for you right now. It gives you instant (glorious) room sound.Until I can afford to expand my locker I'm stuck recording the drums w/ just 3 mics. I guess a useful plug would be something that would beef up the sound of my drum tracks.
SG1s recommendation is a great one! For my drums my weakness is not mics but my room so Ocean Way has been outstanding in my situation. And, probably obvious but make sure the kit is in tip top condition. One more obvious recommendation (not sure if you are the drummer or not) but if the arrangement does not call for toms, don't set them up (unless the drummer is uncomfortable).OCEAN WAY. Why is it preferable to not setup the toms? Mostly all my drum tracks use 'em. Also, I'm only workin w/ a DUO..won't that plug eat up almost all my processing? I'm guessing I'd have to recorded the processed drums to the DAW instead of using it in real time. Leaving no room for error. Plus, I don't think I'll be able to afford it anyways. If your song uses toms, good - leave them set up. If not, you can tighten up the sound a bit by taking them down. Going into the cut, it's always great when you have things arranged. That way, the focus can be on execution (time and groove) rather than distractions. Of course, if you are tracking for "happy accidents" it might be good to leave the toms up. Who knows? My last plugin purchase was also via a $100 coupon; UA's generosity with coupons is truly amazing. It came down to either the LA-2A or 1176 and I went with the LA-2A. The OWS seems insane, but coupled with the price and DSP usage (with my DUO) it seems a bit unrealistic..even if I ran it via the AUX, I'd still have to pretty much disable all the other active plugs to use it. I haven't tried the demo out yet, but it seems like one of the things it does well is compensate for an untreated room, no? However, a properly tuned kit has to be a must, just like in any recording scenario. You can put OWS on aux in console, and print it from there - then blend in as needed in your DAW. This way you only use the DSP resources once
It's expensive but worth it. Did you demo it?
From what i can see 1176mkII would be the obvious choice for drums under 100, but some of the plugs you may want later on, are at their lowest now and then again in dec.
