I do find the Fender to be more variable and "compelling" in it's sound than other amp sims and I will try the OWS to add some ambience to the amp sim.

Once again my issue is that the sound isn't reproduced very well in the cans or other monitors so that leaves me wanting when it's time to just play. I guess that is just the way it is and I am just trying to get it to sound better live, adding after the fact to a recorded track is no problem that sounds good with little effort.

I find the Ampeg SVT is one of the better sounding sims for guitar - the midrange switch and boost is classic Rolling Stones guitar all the way. While designed for bass the SVT and V4 stacks were the guitar amp of choice for the Stones (and Faces) on tour and the sound is great for guitar. Wish I still had my old V2 head from high school days that was a lovely ear bleeder.

Op here. I mean I understand the mic setup isn't gonna be the best in terms of versatility but my main issue is with the break up. This amp seems to break up to easily. I will go into it with unison and sometimes without (levels going in at "-18") . It seems difficult just to get a good clean punchy tone. Any clean tone is weak. Like Im just going in through a DI yet when i hear people playing the real thing it just doesnt break up so easily as this plug in makes it seem/

Honesty, try cranking the mic levels (bottom section) and the master level to almost full and setting the amp volume between 1-2. Great clean tone and no break up.

    For me as well.
Got a nice sound with my Airline Jupiter guitar and several speaker choices - depending on selected pickup.
Is this setting using mic or instrument input? That's still not always clear to me.

I've been using the instrument input.

Me too, because of better sounding. But don't really know why, I mean what's the concept behind.

I've found using 96kHz up to 192kHz made a critical difference and resulted in the plug-in sounding very good. Moving to the higher sample rates eliminated the undesirable distortion artifacts that required significantly lowering the volume pot on the guitar to get a clean sound.

I demoed all the amp emulations and wasn't convinced by any... they still have a long way to reach Fractal Level of realism.
