Hardware inserts

Hello everyone!

I wonder if anyone agrees that to take Apollo even deeper into professional waters, a nice solution for hardware inserts would be urgent!
I love to print as much processing as I need right from the start, and would love to also track with my outboard equipment!

Are you proposing an insert post mic/line, pre A/D? Otherwise you would presumably assign the incoming channel's output to a hardware output->external device->Apollo line/mic, incurring the extra D/A - A/D penalty.

I'm not clear on if you can use external effects on this unit too knowing I'm going to deal with AD/DA conversion. Anyways, I have a Apoggee Rosetta 8 running SMUX to the Apollo. My XLR input goes to XLR patchbay, but my output of the Apogee goes to XLR and the following hardware units:

2 - DBX DDP
Line 6 Mod Pro
Lexicon MPX-1

Currently those effects come into the XLR patch bay so essentially the Apogee is primarily being used to send/return the XLR units. The patch bay is there so I can remove the effects and plug in microphones when I'm tracking drums.

Is the only way to use this setup a direct channel output to ADAT from another channel and then back into the ADAT?

I guess I'm confused. I have been considering sellling most of this and moving the Lexicon / Line 6 to a vocal staion using a Roland MMP-2, but I'd like to figure out how to use these devices if I can.
