    Console 1 And Apollo Central!!!

Well I just spent a couple of hours with my new Console 1 and all I can say is WOW! The workflow just comes natural, I know I have much to learn but just barely cracking the manual I did a mix with it. Very fast! Apollo central is great also. The ability to grab controls in the Apollo console while setting a guitar or Bass amp as I'm playing is priceless
Kcatthedog, I have no idea what you were thinking when you let this go, I'm just glad you did.
The will have to pry this one from my cold dead hands!
If anyone is thinking that Console 1 is more of a pain in the ass than its worth, you're just wrong. Go get one you won't regret it!

    Console 1 And Apollo Central!!!

Hi there, great to hear its working out for you!

Im a recording musician and am on the fence to buy a console 1 just to be able to manipulate plugin settings during tracking/performing (without a mouse), real time tweaking of delays, filters etc. What i have read so far about the workflow was not so encouraging. For example the track selection process. I have two Apollos and a twin all with additional ADAT inputs (huge console mixer). Each session may only have about 10 tracks in actual use but i have may gear connected at all times. So my tracks might be spread across all my Apollos. To quickly select my desired track in Apollo Central it seems i have to flip through pages on Console one to get to my track, right?
Also if i have for instance my Synth track selected in Apollo central and am able to say control my moog filter and keep it like that during the whole performance. Can i still use my mouse to change to another input channel on screen without loosing the mapping to my Synth Channel?

These are just two of my questions. Maybe you could help me with an answer?

To me it seems the workflow is realy ideal for mixing. Tracking and Performing (what i mainly do, with all that beautiful zero latency) still seems complicated with Console 1. Ideally I would wish for a controller that would allow me to map maybe five to ten encoders across my session to whatever i like. So i could tweak my Synth and my Bass at the same time without having to change Channels in a complicated way. But that just as a side note so you know what my main goal is! Thank you!

Apollo Central's only big issue (which I brought up with Mattias @NAMM-hopefully they can fix it) is that it shows ALL Console channels (Virtual, ADAT etc) regardless of whether you've hidden them. If they can get that fixed, it'll be super fast. Even still, I spent 4 days demoing it at NAMM (see pic) and now have one at the studio and it's been awesome.

Is that 2018 Winter NAMM pix from the UA booth? It's a sweet looking pix showing the Apollo/UAD ecosystem along with integrated peripherals like the Console 1 and Sphere microphone systems.
+1 on the Softube Console 1! I purchased one over the holidays. Use it in Apollo Central mode when tracking with my Apollo Twin USB and then DAW mode when mixing with REAPER/SONAR.

Yes sir, that was my station. People were VERY interested in both the Sphere (which I also have and think is a great back up to my Flea47) and Console 1.

For me Console 1 serves a unique function. I keep my 8Ps in the studio connected to my laptop (which has thunderbolt) and lightpipe the audio into my PTHD rig (which does not have TB) in the machine room. Previously, I was having to use the mouse over Remote Desktop to control Console, but now have Console 1 sitting next to me which allows tactile control of all my mic pres and processing.

I'm just getting my feet wet with it right now but couldn't you kinda move the tracks you wish to control to the 1st 20 that you'd have instant access to them in Console 1? Yeah the mapping across the entire UA console thing at one time isn't gonna happen with this. It was meant for mixing and Apollo Central is a Major bonus. Maybe Softube should look into making a Performance Console hardware piece with a desk controller and foot controller combo since they already have the mapping thing down it should be a snap!

Flipping pages is probably one button per page and you seen the tracks at the bottom of the ST C1 gui, don't really think it would be so onerous ?

No offence, but the biggest problem with non C1 user expression of pre-purchase concern is you have no experience with C1 ( I know you know that ), but once you get C1, you do have to learn its workflow, but that is quick and intuitive and then it becomes muscle memorized and its a very effective.

I have just gone mostly OTB but I honestly kept my C1 for some time before selling it and really sold it just cus a friend here expressed an interest in to and as I am no longer using the apollo it made sense to let it go.

This is a timely post. I made some upgrades this early part of the year and the Console 1 was part of a bigger purchase. I am slowly acclimating. I've not had the time to sit with it as I want but am very slowly getting it integrated into my work flow. I've had some paid sessions where I have resorted to using the mouse because at this time it is still the quicker move but in other instances I am forcing myself to use the Console1 as much as possible so that I can work from it more quickly and intuitively AND with using more of my ears than eyes.

I do wonder - how long do you suppose before Softube rolls out another wave of UAD mapped plugins? How long ago was the current list of mapped UAD plugins incorporated? Anyone want to guess? Anyone hear anything at NAMM?
