I’ve been looking for a budget mixing headphone. I decided to get the DT990 250 ohm
But I’m not sure if Apollo Twin DUO headphone output has enough juice for the 250 ohm or would I have to purchase a headphone amp

Sorry if this is a noob question

I have an Apollo 8 and it has enough juice to run that headset...just don't put it on a splitter. If you need to feed 2+ devices, get a headphone amp, but for just the DT990 Pro (250 Ohm), it should work just fine for you.

Apollo 8 is 160 mW into 300 ohm load
Apollo Twin MkII is 80 mW into 600 ohm load

I'm not sure if that makes the same or not, but the rest of the specs (THD and S/N ratio) are different.

So according to previous response the specs I wouldn't need a headphone amp to power headphones under 600 ohms? I have the twin quad. A headphone I like uses 600 ohm. Example does dt 990 premium is rated for 600 ohm. What about me mixing on a regular console. Do I need an heaphone amp? I'm somewhat new but clarification be appreciated on us boobies look into appropriate headphones.

Keep in mind this is all VERY personal and subjective and dependent upon how loud/dynamic the material is coming out of the unit.

So it's hard for anyone to tell you what's loud enough etc.
