    UAD showing up in Windows?

    Hi,
i use 2 Apollos for recording in my DAW. I also have a MOTU sound card hooked up in my computer. The UAD doesn't show up under Windows "Playback devices"
I'd like to use the UAD when I'm playing sounds in Windows.

Is it not showing up because the MOTU is blocking it somehow? UAD shows up in all other audio apps/editors etc.

In my DAW, I have to chose one or the other sound card, but it gives me the option to choose between the two cards (UAD and MOTU) why wouldn't Windows show the UAD?

    Thanks
    Jono

    UAD showing up in Windows?

Which exact version of Windows? I have experienced the same. Windows doesn't use ASIO, unlike the DAWs.

    Thanks...

    I'm on Windows 8.1 pro
The MOTU sound card which does work in Windows, uses ASIO drivers as far as I know. Perhaps it switches when working in Windows, not sure.

I'm just wondering if the MOTU wasn't present, if the UAD would take over and work in Windows.

    Anyone else have this issue?

Sorry for the ambiguity. Windows sounds and OS level playback don't use ASIO, is what I was meaning. ASIO is exclusive for DAW and similar use.

I understand your situation exactly, though. Unfortunately Windows 8.1 doesn't have any support for a native Win driver with TB Apollos. Win 10 is required. I've contacted UA support on the same issue and was told, specifically, that it's unsupported.
