It was the only Spark plugin not included in the Signature Edition as well.

Licensing reasons from Neve.
Yeah, I still wonder why Neve do that? You can buy a DSP Neve 1073 and get a native 1073 free, rent a native 1073 or buy a native Neve product as a Luna extension, just not buy a native 1073, singularly or as part of a bundle. (Of course you can buy other native 1073s they’re just not called that)

probably because the licensing allows for Apollo users to use the plug-in, so having an Apollo or satellite is a prerequisite to use it.
Somehow it was allowed in the Spark subscription as well. Maybe the situation is temporal until an agreement is made, or there will be no more native Neve. I guess we’ll see in time.

Yeah, that seems to be the gist of the situation. And who knows if/when we'll ever see any further officially licensed Neve releases.

With that new SSL 4k E release, I kind of having similar thoughts about any future officially licensed SSL releases as well.

Kind of a bummer, but everyone wants their piece of the pie these days.

I always doubted that SSL would make it to native because they make their own plug-ins.
As far as I’m aware Neve isn’t making any plug-ins so it could just be a question of coming to a financial agreement. Which could be solved. Or not :)
I think not being able to use the Neve name officially would be a huge loss to UA…

The writing was on the wall as soon as Neve released an audio interface last year. I have no doubt they are developing their own plugins.
