1073 Demo Expired ...

... which is, of course, physically impossible since it is a 14 day demo and 4.3 was only released a couple of hours ago.

After checking the site dozens of times today, I downloaded 4.3 from the official link when it finally appeared at UA's site sometime past 6:00 or 6:30pm PST on June 1.

I installed it, rebooted as asked, and as soon as I tried to load an instance of the 1073, I got a message saying the demo had expired. Checking Authorizations from the UAD-1 meter confirms this.

WTF???????

Has this happened to anyone else or is it just me?

I know that UA will help me out tomorrow, but, damn, it has seemingly been an eternity waiting for this thing day by day and hour by hour and to be let down like this ... just blows!

Same problem here, demo expired.

\"Demo expiring has got nothing to do with official or unofficial release. It's an issue with the authchip on the uad-1 and is probably one of the most common problems people (myself included) have had with the card.

Don't worry though. Contact UA support via email and they will sort it out for you.\"

Well I sent UA email no reply yet. i've been using the card since they came out & haven't had any problems all these years except for needing bigger power supply when I first installed the card
I'm confident they'll fix this quick.

yup same here.... i feel your pain. :(

i just sent an email to support. i hear this happens alot.

hopefully they can fix this. i'd love to try it out. :cry:

Yea my buddy just called to rub salt in the wounds. He's a b3 player & he's playin tracks over the phone & tellin me how great the 1073 sounds on the hammond & some drum tracks.
He's got his own problems though. He went & paid for it but still can only get demo to play.
i've been into the daw thing since 1998, I should have learned my lesson by now about jumping on any new hardware or software, but the neve was to much to resist.

Has anyone heard back?

I emailed UA requesting the fix this morning and I haven't heard back yet. It's mid day on Friday ... I'm worried that the weekend will be here and I'll be left hanging for another three days.

well i got an email today from UA and they helped me out. :D

and all i can say is the neve is sweet as hell. :twisted:

i can't wait for the neve comp !

I have had this problem for the last 2 or 3 demos. I have emailed Uad about this, so hopefully They will have a solution. I mean how can I buy anything if I can't try it.

I never had this problem until v4.2. But this time I couldn´t resist and bought the Neve without even trying it. And guess what, I don´t regret it at all. :lol:
