1073 not for drums ?

I know.. I may be a twat, but I can't make it do anything usefull on drums. It's either too much or too little. It has a nice \"sound\" like real eq business, and overheads get close, but that's all.

Other instruments love the plug.

How are you dudes using it ?

What are your results compared to whatever else you've been using ?

Did you watch the little demo movie on the UA site? It's mostly drums that get tweaked there. You can decide for better or for worse. :)

This EQ ought to be a GO TO kind of thing for overheads and snare for sure. I see no reason why it shouldn't sound good on kick and other drums too. Of course I have not yet activated the demo. ;) But I know many good drum recordings were done on a 1073 strip. And if the EQ is as smooth as people say it is it ought to do better than most other plugins for highs especially.

I quite often take out 1100-1200 hz on snares. Would you then instead boost the surrounding freq's or simply live with the sound ?

I've never used a 1073 before (I've learned through Daw's only).

Any snare eq guides/hints (I know it depends on the material) to get my head around this thing would be much appreciated.

Cheers for the replies so far
