Geeesh! is this thing as great as it seems to be ?
I've been using it for the last 2 days have not since touched my Pultec pro, : (
Maybe it's the initial fascination but it's been providing great tonal seperation on whatever I use it on (and that's been everything). To be honest, I've only been using the presets...and then tweeking a bit.
It may be that Although I have a couple good mics I only have 1 mic pre...(Universal audio 2-610). I love it's smoothness, especially since putting in nos Telefunken tubes...but some times yearn for that Neve punchy thing.
The 1073 seems to bring a good amount of that to the mix, ultimatly.
So, I have to hand in this song in couple days and have 5 days left on the demo...may have to get it.
Also, appreciate any tips...I'm mainly using thr LA 2A 1st and then The 1073 on sub-groups and then mix them down (only have one card). I also have a Fairchild lightly on the mix and the Plate as a master effects bus.
Wondering if I should engage the 14 day demo for the Prec. Lim and/or eq? But want to give the mastering guy some room.
Also Wondering if I'm cluttering things up by using only 1 Plate reverb send for Voc's, instroments etc?
Thanks for any insights.
