2 x UAD-1 + Quicksilver G4 - RME HDSP 9652 viable? Giga CPU?

I have a 2001 Dual-800 MHz Quicksilver G4, 1.5 GB RAM, Mac OS 10.3.7 I just added a second UAD-1 card and bought the full suite of UAD-1 plugins - loving life with DP4.5 and its auto delay compensation. I haven't pushed the rig insanely hard, but so far no clicks/pops/cpu spiking problems.

Now, I want more audio I/O for interfacing with sampler PCs - currently using Metric Halo 2882+DSP FireWire interface on the G4, so it doesn't fight for PCI bandwidth with my UAD-1s. Am I asking for trouble if I add an RME HDSP 9652 PCI audio card? Anyone else using this combo? Any guidelines about which PCI card in which PCI slot?

Also looking at Giga Designs dual G4 CPU upgrades - any caveats there with respect to UAD-1 performance? They have a dual 1.7GHz shipping soon, hopefully I can wait to upgrade to G5 for another year or two.

Thanks for any advice...

Brian

I used an older Dual 1.33 giga upgrade on my Quicksilver 2002 Mono Processor with the UAD inside the cpu and inside of a magma chassis with no ill effects. :)

OK, that's good to know...actually even the dual 1.33 would be a nice speed bump from my dual 800.

Now, what about the PCI bandwidth on this machine? anyone?
will I have a trouble with 2 UAD-1 cards and an RME card?

Nah you shouldnt.

Place the UAD in slot 3 and slot 4 with the RME in slot 1 and life should be grand :)
