2nd Hand Card and Demos

Hi,

I have installed my 2nd \"second hand\" UAD card temporarily into my works PC while I wait for the original owner to transfer it over to me, so haven't downloaded any registry / authorisation stuff yet (as I can't). It'll be joining my 1st card, which is in my studio PC, very soon.

However, if I load the Performance Meter and look at Authorisations, it tells me some plugin demos have expired and some haven't yet been started. How does it know this? Only the UAD s/w and h/w have been installed, no registry / auth stuff. :?:

I did have my 1st UAD card installed on this same PC, just before Christmas, having downloaded the registry / authorisation stuff, but I'd tried and expired time with all demos.

Anyone?

The demo authorizations are stored in a chip on the card itself.

Ah, I see. Can these be reset? IIRC some other UAD users got more demo time, which is what I'd like to request at some point.

When I install the 2nd card in same computer as my 1st one (with all demos expired), will I still get the demos remaining from the 2nd one or do they cancel each other out or something?
