Hi
Since switching from PC, the bane of previously happy existence has been the inability to run UA plugs in anything but the smallest quantities while recording. 3.9 promised to change all that...
... so with some anticipation I took a fairly simple track, and peppered it liberally with fairchilds, 1176's, pultecs, 140's etc... up to around 85% on two cards - then froze the lot. Then I dropped the buffer to 64 samples, plugged in a guitar, with a guitar amp pro plug on it, and proceed to record. First pass seemed fine, but second and third I got the odd little noise here and there - nothing as overt as a click or pop though .. just a glitch. However, I'd missed a Plate 140 on a bus - bypassed it and tried again - no glitches, pops or crackles
OK, not a completely exhaustive test, but fairly typical of session conditions I used to get with the PC. So, first impressions: great job UA! Its a winner, and gets my G5 working like I expected it to out of the box. 40 on monday, and this is already my best present by far
Cheers
