3 UAD-1 cards - how to setup? (ASUS A8V board)

Hello y´all - my first post! :D

today my third UAD1- card arrived...my happiness disappeared soon, after my comp crashes now as soon as I load one of my current projects in cubase. And nothing but crashes in Wavelab, too.
Until today my DAW did a pretty good job, never crashed...

the PCI-card setup was like this from top to bottom:

AGP grafic card (ATI Radeon 7000) - IRQ 16
SLOT 1 - empty
SLOT 2 - RME DIGI9636 - IRQ 17
SLOT 3 - UAD-1 - IRQ 18
SLOT 4 - UAD-1 - IRQ 19
SLOT 5 - empty

Now when I add the third UAD-1 card, wheather it is slot 1 or 5, it always shares IRQ 16 with the gfx card.
The mainboard manual says, that slot1, slot5 and the AGP slot are shared slots.
I tried other arrangements, but when slot1 or slot five are in use, all my audio appz refuse to work.

I searched the forum for a possible solution but all I could find was a post in the \"working setup\" thread by user winnie_pooh, who has a quite similiar system compared to mine and has 4 UAD-cards up and running - I wonder where my problem lies....

Any help???

thanks in advance!

I have 3*UADs in slots 3,4 and 5 of the A8V. I have a poco in slot 2 and have firewire audio. This all works OK with Cubase and Wavelab. My video card is an Nvidia. Try (for test purposes) taking the RME out and using the onboard audio. I'm assuming you currently have this disabled in BIOS along with all the other devices you do not need.

I hope it continues to work for you. PCI slot #1 is hard wired to your graphics card and therefore, so is your RME card and whatever you use in PCI slot #5. If it's a UAD-1 card that you're now running in PCI #5 then you've got a graphics card, RME card and UAD-1 card all on IRQ 16. If this is working, it's nothing short of a miracle. Also, IRQ 17 is sharing with your LAN controller. If you are not using LAN, disabling it in the BIOS is a good idea.
