4110 / 8110 mic pres

Hello all. I am seriously looking at the 4110 as a major upgrade to the mic pres I am using now; a Behringer - yeah, I know - 2 channel \"tube\" (note the quotes) and various forms of the standard Mackie VLZ models as well as the MOTU's built ins. The 4110 is very enticing with the three modes starting clean and getting more saturation.
Just wondering if anyone has one or has seen more than the videos online. Street price is $2500.00 which is more than I would like, BUT it could be a box that I would always have in the studio from now on, as opposed to the Behringer which I knew would be a stepping stone...

Let me know what you've heard and seen. Thanks

Wow

So after waiting this long, NO ONE has it or has heard it in real life. I am not sure what this says about this group or those who buy the hardware. Hmm
Can't find a review of it anywhere either.
I want to KNOW this thing before I drop that amount of money. The video is great but, hearing how great it is (or not) from others is a good thing.

I don't have one yet but am planning to get the Solo version as soon as it's available. UA's other pre's, the 610 & 2108, are both loaded with character that's very distinct from other preamps out there.

Well the 610 is 100% tube right? I don't know about the 2108 - in fact it isn't listed on the AU product page. What is this device?
I am very interested in a solid state pre that has a 'tube-like' sound as a feature as needed. I think that is exactly what UA is marketing the 4110 and 8110 as if I am not mistaken.

The 610 is tube. The 2108 was a solid state preamp based on the 1176's transformer. The 4110 & 8110 seem to me intended to cover a range from Grace/Millenia clean to Neve/API transformer saturation. It'll be impressive if they pulled it off but that's a different thing from the big, bold sound of the 610.
