I have had the Dream, Ruby and Woodrow since day 1 and when launched added the Lion. I play live and have tried several different switching strategies such as each pedal set to live/preset which is cumbersome as you have to turn off one amp and another on. I also tried a EH Tri Parallel mixer which worked good was unreliable. Since day one I have read the 4 CM section of the manual and it never occurred to me to run them this way as I run direct into the PA but tonight I tried it and it works marvelous as long as your happy mono and switching is 1000x more useful and you can preload parts instead of having to do all the dancing. Only drawback I can see so far is the volume bug people are reporting when running mono on the astra, starlight and golden.

Yeah I think since the intention of 4CM is to use directly into the effects loop on an amp, that the room modeling is disabled. You're basically just replacing the preamp section of your real amp with the modeled amp. If you want the full room modeling then the way to accomplish this is using them in normal mode with the output going to an FRFR amp. Technically I see no reason why you couldn't just run the normal signal into the effects loop on a physical amp, but I haven't tried it so I don't know what it would sound like. This would likely be very subjective of course, and may be fine, so probably worth trying. Since you're just using the power section of the physical amp it should be similar to using an FRFR though?
