A few questions about the Solo 610...

Hello all,

I'm VERY interested in the Solo 610. I've been looking for that special sound for awhile now....something that will give me a very warm and polished quality to my vocals and acoustic guitar. Also, knowing the heritage behind the company appeals to me as well.

Is this preamp considered a neutral sounding or colored preamp...and is it Class A?

And if you own or have used this unit...could you describe in your own words the sonic characteristics of this preamp--and what it is about it that appeals to you that made you HAVE to have it.

If you can recommend any recordings or sound samples that I can listen to, to reference the 610 sound...that would be great.

Thanks for the insight.

The 610 is a very colored preamp, warm & larger-than-life sounding. However, it doesn't have the mid-forward thing that helps vocals & acoustic guitars stick out in a busy mix. For that, you should probably look at the Solo 110 instead (which is Class A & stonkingly good on acoustic guitar).
