I just transferred my Apollo Solo USB out of my system as I have just sold it.

I selected the NO option for transfer of plugns.

In my account I see this and the Solo still listed.

I have removed the Solo from my PC and packed it ready to ship

I have clicked on the Authorise Plugins in UAD Control Panel with my Satellites connected.

Is there anything I need to do?

I want the buyer to be able to register this solo on receipt without any hassle.

Have I done everything correctly?

yes, it'll be complete when they get it and register it.

It was #812143, but it's been closed.

Thanks Drew!
yeah, the agent let you know they can move it to another system so there is no problem. But that's it. It cannot be de-registered (removed from your account) because then it would be like a "new" Apollo.

IOW, it's all working as designed. We have a VERY liberal authorization system and because of that, there can be some quirks. In order to"fix" this, we'd have to make users jump through hoops and re-auth periodically and we don't want to do that.

Not sure I understand what you mean by this. The agent told me that moving it to another system won't change anything. It won't deauthorize the Solo, or remove the pending transfer.

It explains why the market for used Apollo's is so robust though. Pretty easy way to get free plugins.

Correct. There is nothing to do. See the 2nd half of my post.

Our generous policy can be exploited, but those users can NEVER buy another plugin or update EVER.

So it's not the issue you think it is.

There are lots of used Apollos because we sell LOTS OF APOLLOS. ;)

Sounds pretty straight-forward to me. I have a solo up for sale and I'm not doing plugs either.

You didn't say there is nothing to do. You said there is "no problem".

For me, there is a problem. But since UA can't/won't do anything about it, I guess it's not a problem for you.

Thanks for the help Drew.
Sorry, let me be more clear. There is no problem and there is nothing to do beyond moving the device to another system as the agent offered.

You're welcome and thanks for the opportunity to clear things up.

Moving the Solo to another system changes nothing. The pending transfer will still show, and the buyer can still use my plugins.

You sold the device? You got the $ all good?

To avoid this, we'd be forced to make you re-up your auth periodically and we don't want to put that on the user.

Sure. $ solves everything.

Thanks for taking my concern seriously.
I am absolutely taking your concerns seriously and am trying to help you understand that all is well. Nothing is being done to you. Yes, some users take advantage of US, but that's our problem.

So you'd rather we make you jump through hoops periodically, rather than have an easier user experience with less interference from us?

I'm curious if that would be worth it to you? That is useful info to me.

No, I'd rather you design a system that allows users to de-authorize a device. I'd rather you allow a device that's been transferred out of my account to be removed from my account.

I could care less how it happens on the back-end. Clicking a button to re-authorize my Apollo isn't a big deal to me at all. It's not like it's a lot of work. I guess some people can't handle that though.

Since you have to re-authorize every time you buy a plug-in, what's the difference?

I think what Drew is saying is that they'll be using UADs plugins, not your’s, and, unless they register the Apollo, they’ll never be able to buy another UAd plugin.
