A8V del stability issues - interesting news

I don't get the point of this? I have the same board with no issues whatsoever with the LAN. Besides - if there really is a problem in there somewhere...just move the UAD to another slot and be done with it.

Hi Bruce,
1. Having 3 UADs, 1 Digiface, 1 PoCo means you can't easily move cards to an empty slot.
And the UAD is the most problemfree of those cards as far as IRQ sharing is concerned. This is not a UAD issue afaik.
2. Those Marvells are known to cause all sorts of trouble, not only in this scenario.
The Marvell driver supplied with the A8V caused random BSODs on my system, that's proven. So I installed the latest driver (Dec.2005) and the BSODs were gone. However I traded the mentioned problems in, those stability tests not running smoothly means there is something seriously wrong with a system.
BTW, you never know what you might find when you're running those hardcore stability tests. The issues didn't show up in everyday Cubase work but were definitely lurking somewhere in the background.
3. Normally I'd just put in one of those cheap Realtek NICs which never gave me any trouble, but where ? And I need the LAN for backups etc. Only workaround would have been a USB2 to LAN adapter, but there is not much info about stability and issues around.
Just wanted to share this info, maybe it can help someone troubleshoot. It sure wasn't an easy ride for me.
Cheers, Cooper

try taking out one pci card at a time and see if it is a conflict with a card or not for sure. i wonder if it is your specific audio interface?

i will be getting the same setup but will use an aes16 Lynx card. i will try to get this setup soon so that i can help test out what is going on. but i'm going on vacation and may not be able to look into it until after the 7th.

Thanks for your offer, TheEastGateMS,
but if you reread the posts you'll find the problem is entirely solved.
I posted here only FYI, in case somebody else runs into a similar problem.
Have a nice holiday,
Cooper
