Hi guys,
First of all - apologies, because I know this information is in the forums already but I find it very hard to follow and keep up to date with the best specs to use for DAW's, hence this post.
I am looking to upgrade from an Intel 2.8GHz (HT) ASUS P4P800-e deluxe to either an AMD or Intel, dual core or single, 64bit or 32 bit processor.
I am basically looking for suggestions as to the best route to go down.
I use Cubase SX3, with equal amounts of VSTs and Audio. I own 2 UAD-1s and 1 Powercore (not the PCIe versions). All my cards are PCI (HDSP 9632 + AEIB,wireless network card) + 1 normal AGP video card . I mix in the box and send out for mastering.
Is it best to go 64bit now or should I wait and go dual-core instead? AMD or Intel? What motherboards currently work best etc...
I would rather not change PCI protocol at this stage.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Drammy
