AMD X2 w/4 UAD-1's Motherboard Recommendation?

I've searched through the tech board but haven't seen this listed, nor have I seen a firm recommendation.

Is there a known working AMD X2 MB with 4 PCI slots that works? I need to upgrade MB and proc, but need to have all 4 UAD-1s available.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I think I'm now even more confused.

First, I thought that VIA chipsets were the number one no-no for audio.
Second, I can't find anyone who carries an A8V-Deluxe. The only options are the A8V with 5 PCI slots, but only AGP graphics or the A8V-MX that DOES have PCI-E slots but only 3 regular PCI slots.

Maybe I should stick with Intel?

I haven't heard of any PCIe mobos with 4 PCI slots.

Its either 5 PCI slots with AGP graphics or PCIe graphics and slots with 3 PCI slots.

On my cyber-travels at least.

And UA actually endorse the Asus A8V Deluxe (which is the same as the Asus A8V with the addition of onboard firewire and extra SATA ports) for use with the X2 processor and UAD-1 cards.

The VIA chipset thang is in the past. Tota;ly stable system here.

From my research, it looks like the AGP/5 PCI or PCI-E/3 PCI rule only applies to AMD procs.

I might have to stick to Intel. I definitely want to move up to dual-core and keep my 4 UAD-1 cards.

Thanks for the input!

No worries, you should be AOK with an Intel D9xx, from what I've been reading in the benchmarks its on a par with the X2 4400 and its not as hot running as the 8xx.

Oh, and if you're going Intel, get one of those boards you can stick 8Gb of memory into.

Remember the Conroe is just around the corner too, but the first release is going to be 32 bit and then there will be the DSP compatibility thang too.

Good luck!

All right, update to my previous post: add MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum to the list. Just re-installed mine and works like a charm with 2xUAD-1 and 2xPowercore in a Magma chassis!!! Just followed Jim Roseberry's advice - I didn't even have to use the infltr thingy by Microsoft to make it work. I'm happy like a pig in shit...

BTW, if you want an A8V Deluxe and can't find one, I can sell you mine - just dunno how much the postage would be to the US...
