Any difference in PCI and PCI express card? Other questions

Hi
I have one of the first UAD1s sold in Houston. I love it, though I had my Sonar issues with the thing for a bit.

I am considering adding a second and possibly a third card.

Is there any difference (other than the fact it plugs into the PCIE bus) between the PCI version and the PCIe? I guess what I would be looking for is anything measurable in the processors or whatever.

Also, I think I am correct that everything i have bought from UAD in the past will work as well on a second and third card, correct?

Finally, is there a new card in the works that I should possibly wait on?

Thanks

PCI-Standard, PCI-E and can all mixed and used in the same hardware group. Up to 4 cards max. unless you use one of those Xpander thingies.

I think the main difference between PCI-E (2.5GB/s) and PCI-Standard (133MB/s) are the bandwidth of each interface. Everything else is the same.

It would be interesting to see what the difference would be with 4 PCi-E cards in unison rather than mixing them around. However I digress.

As for any future releases, I wouldn't hold your breathe, as all that seems to be under wraps at the moment.

From the specs of the PCI_E version.

\"UAI™ - Universal Analog Intelligence – Most Accurate Models & Superior Sonic Quality\"

I don't whether that's new or not, however I am guessing it's just the first time I've seen it mentioned.

Up to 4 cards, even if you're using the UAD-Xpander.
