I did purchase it and I actually prefer it over the UAD version. The Pro Tools Expert guys gave it the Experts Gold award and had a lot to say about this plugin..

I invite you to read this interesting article about the UAD SSL 4000 E Channel Strip:

It was written when the CS didn't have the SSL approval stamp yet but it pretty much says why SSL finally gave it the OK.

Its not native. Dont have 3000$ for an apollo sorry
I have 2 apollos, but dsp sucks for mixing. Even having octo, you always have to keep an eye on the dsp usage. And after all, the offline bounce is very slow. Nowadays i use uad dsp only for lex480, ocean way, akg, ampex…

Just wait 10 more years until everything is ported. THEN i will make a chart topping hit!
Yes, the pace of porting is incredibly slow. If they go to 2 plugins every two months, we really won't even get it to 2028. Luckily November was fantastic, but now in December we will have proof of UA's good intentions.

Does anyone did a comparision between SSL Native Bus Compressor 2 VS UAD's SSL 4000G Bus Compressor? Which one you think is better?

Also I'm curious about the Fusion series plugins...they were $29 each but I don't think I need any of them.

SSL consoles, especially 4K B and E are truly remarkable.
I came up working on SSLs. Lots of them. They're for sure the workhorses of their day.

The first time I worked out of Electric Lady in NYC, I had the assistant covertly photocopy the SSL manual for me so I could have it as reference. I had been working on them for a while already, so I know what I was doing already, but getting a manual back then was an expensive proposition!!! He did it of course but was none too happy!!! :ROFLMAO:

Apollos are amazing interfaces, users should really look into them, being able to use the MANY DSP only plugins comes along as a bonus.

Yes, great machines and good memories.
Now that we have UADx I can use hundreds and hundreds of instances with my 13700K PC. For DSP, I would have to spend thousands and thousands of dollars to be able to use 7-8 instances. I can understand a recording studio, where latency matters, but producers and audio engineers will always work with UADx. Natives all the way. So if you want to compete with big companies, only native versus native products matter. But now I'm super happy with the direction of UAD these last two years, happy to work and support this company for a long time. Keep up the good work with natives and Spark, you will have me as a paying user for many years. Only the porting pace needs to be faster. At least the UA Ultimate 12 catalog should be completely native by the end of 2024, because there aren't many missing and UA has done a great job in recent times.
