Anyone built/swapped FRFR speakers into a DIY cabinet?

I built 2 nice 1 x 12" cabinets a few months ago...and outfitted them with a 25w Celestion Greenback and a 15w Celestion Alnico Blue. Both are great speakers, and worked well with my valve amp. I'm selling the valve amp, in favor of switching over to my UAFX pedals.

Given that, those speaker choices don't work in my best interest anymore - as they are guitar speakers, and not FRFR speakers. It is undesirable to disable the awesome speaker emulations when going through those cabinets, given I won't be using the valve amp anymore. When I run straight into my DAW/headphones, there isn't a problem, as I can use those emulations.

I was thinking about swapping out my guitar speakers for some FRFR speakers (I don't want to get a Headrush setup, and I want to use the cabinets I built, as they are really nice) ;).

In searching a bit on FRFR speakers, these 2 came up:

Celestion F12-X200
Celestion F12M-150 Triple Cone

FWIW: I will be powering these with a Seymour Duncan Powerstage 100 Stereo unit .

Does anyone have experience with these 2 speakers, or could recommend decent alternates? Given the manufacturer and the decent price...these both seem like a safe bet.

Also...is this just a stupid idea?
If it worked out, I would probably just sell the GB and the Blue to cover the cost of the project.

It's a good idea. Not stupid at all. Any concentric speaker will work, doesn't have to be Celestion, but the Triple Cone is the one I'd choose out of these two options. I got great sounds using UAFX pedals with my Tannoy dual concentrics.

Eminence Beta 12CX w/ ASD1000 tweeter and 2.5k or 3.5k crossover is another alternative. This was used by Xitone in the past.

Thanks for the insights...I'll start looking at some of these options. This is looking more and more like the direction I will go, particularly as I'm looking to pick up an Ox Stomp, and this will support all that goodness when not hooked up to my Apollo.

I plan to go from last stereo pedal effect into a Milkman The Amp Stereo and into two DIY cabinets 1x12 with either Celestion F12-X200 or F12M-150, still don't know which one. I hope the small Class-D milkman will be clean and transparent enough for the Dream and Woodrow.

Currently, all the UAFX (Dream 65, Starlight, soon Golden, later Woodrow) are in the send/return stereo loop of a Hotone Ampero II, into headphones.
