Anyone have experience with the Furman M-8x2 8 Outlet Power Conditioner

I was thinking about getting another surge protector because the list of gear I need to plug in is growing. I haven’t noticed a lot of noise from them (some low hiss in my Yamaha speakers) but other than that fairly reasonable. I thought since I need more outlet space, might as well try a power conditioner. I was originally looking at the Furman M-8X2 but then I was reading it’s basically a glorified power strip and doesn’t actually do anything to regulate voltage. I then saw the Tripp lite isobar suggested. Any experience with any of these? Nice strip that deals with noise floor/power surge?

In my experience and my opinion, the Tripplite stuff is better than the Furman gear. Both in terms of noise filtering/surge protection and reliability. I’ve had a couple of Furmans literally burn up.

If you want voltage regulation you need an AVR surge suppressor or battery backup. These are generally designed for digital gear, not high power stuff like powered monitors. The Isobar will be fine for your application, but does not regulate voltage. It will only cut power in the event of a surge.

I think that’s ok! I don’t need anything too heavy duty, maybe something that would help with the noise floor a tiny bit but I don’t have any drastic problems.

I bought a PL-8C (I don't think they make 'em anymore, I got a blowout price) and.....it's great for having all the extra outlets, but I don't think it does anything to decrease noise. Maybe it's just the model I have, I know they get pretty pricey.

I have 2 of the furhmans and never had any problems with them, but I don't know if they are doing any magical noise filtering or anything. I still have the occasional weird hum or buzz from my gear - but that seems like a fact of life.
Same boat

Here, there are only two issues with hum. First, my front garage lights cause extra interference when playing guitar with any kind of gain. Turn them off, almost nothing. Second was that PC tower I built (twice). I never could find find out why (and I sunk a fortune into it) but it was CRAZY interference. It's just a paper weight now.

I also have one of those Morely Hum Exterminators......I think it's fake news but some vids showed a dif.

So bottom line is basically there’s no gear that’s not super super expensive that does noise filtering? I guess in that case I just really need an extra strip and want to know the most bang for the buck. If it even does anything for surge protection or noise all the better! Would you guys think that plugging a power strip into each socket of a two socket outlet would be ok? I maybe have (9?) things to plug in and have filled one surge protector 8 port power strip and am finding I may need another. Mostly for a new Mac Studio coming that I’d like to protect, maybe the twin and adat Scarlett 18i20 interfaces I have, and 2 Yamaha HS7s. The rest of the things plugged in like monitors and usb hubs maybe don’t need the quality/power?

Have relied on Furman in my home office, home studio, living room audophile setup for more than 20 years. Totally rely on the brand. But you do need the stepup from 'power strip in a rack' to a 'power conditioner' These are good budet (price drop!) models to look at:

Thank you! I don’t have a rack for them you think it would be fine on the floor? Does it matter? And is it a big enough difference from a normal surge protector power strip?

I’ve had good luck with the mid-line Tripplite stuff for noise filtering.

Well, it's allot cooler than a channel strip.....(runs away...)

Wow! That’s a mega set up. I see what you mean about the bottom right, I would do something similar
in midst of rewiring everything....the pan...the pain...
