Anyone Remember the article about mixing with white noise?

I remember A link to an article by Ed Cherney ro somebody talking about mixing with a bed of white noise playing softly in the background. They mention this helps to linearize the ear and produce more balanced mixes.

Anyone remeber? got a link by any chance?

Wouldn't pink noise do a better job since it's the same energy on every octave (if I have the color right ) ?
