Now the UAD sound card work, I seem to have resolved the problem, we'll see over time if it's good.
So I summarize for those like me who cannot invest in a more recent Mac but want to use their equipment like Apollo and Logic Pro in recent versions.
You have an extraordinary job done by open source developers to update an old Mac with a recent OS. You will find lots of tutorials for this. This is open Core patcher Legacy. Huge. I upgraded my 3 old Macs from 2009 or 2010, 2012 and an MBP to Ventura.
Second step: update the printer drivers, you have to experiment, look for more recent drivers and try. My brothers print from 2015 are recognized.
As for more specific hardware like the Apollo duo sound card, the problem was that the Mac Pro 2012 does not have a thunderbolt port but firewire ports. Rather than buying a thunderbolt PCI card to put in the Mac pro, I looked for a driver that would work under Ventura to recognize and manage the firewire ports. It is AppleFWAudioVentura.pkg (see belove). You must follow the procedure found on the internet to deactivate the Mac's SIP. Remember to reactivate it afterwards.
But if the Apollo sound card was now recognized by the Mac, it was still not recognized by UAD. I then installed the latest UAD Apollo plug-in managing the firewire ports, it is the Catalina compatible one. AND there miraculously everything works, the UAD Catalana plug-in is Ventura compatible and manages the sound card.
Hoping that this will help some who don't necessarily have the means to invest in Mac new when they already have very, very good Macs which can continue to be.
