Apollo Twin USB Win 10 randomly stops computer audio from playing even though that's the output shown.

I was just watching a youtube video for something I'm working on in Ableton. Opened Ableton and now the computer audio no longer works even though under output devices windows still shows the Universal Audio USB Twin there. Ableton sound is fine. I do not have Exclusive mode turned on. I have to restart my computer each time this happens. What might be causing this?

Edit - for whatever reason, the audio driver likes to change things up occasionally. I try to keep my DAW and audio interface at 44.1 16 bit. It's necessary for windows to also be set the same or the computer audio will not play at the same time as a DAW.

exclusive mode is good idea, generally. also, make sure usb not set to go to sleep to save power.

Interesting - how do you figure exclusive mode would ever be a good idea? I'm struggling to see where it would be beneficial.
many audio devices, software, like DACs, Amazon HD music, Media Monkey, etc. utilize exclusive mode to properly set bitrate etc. ... however this will vary by your app, and whether you use multiple apps at same time. if your main app cannot hold the settings, you might try exclusive mode. again, your use case will vary.

same thing is happening here - whether i use the apollo for ableton, or rekordbox, whatever, it will stop working for other applications. soundcloud wont play, vlc, whatever, if it's being used by another app?? im normally a mac user just started on windows 10 never had something like this. somebody must know why this is happening??
