Apollo X Gen 2: First Impressions

No, just like all Apollos can be mixed, the driver knows.
So in other words if I record through my x16/x8p and my twin gen2 the gen2 will be “slowed down” in order to get the same values?

I may add another x16 gen2 and don’t want to think about that when recording drums etc….

No, it's all reported to the DAW and placed on the timeline as needed.

And is it the same for DA as well? I am currently feeding a parallel comp from my twin into my summing mixer alongside my x16 line outs….
This is all up to the DAW.

DAWs are responsible for delay comp when mixing.

Maybe I wasn’t clear about what I mean:
- I send 14 channels out of my x16 into my summing mixer
- I send 2 channels out of my twin x gen2 into a comp which then is being fed into the summing mixer as well
- the DAW compensates the buses of course

but will the driver compensate the speed of the converter?

I'd have to test but I suspect it would. And I have a recollection that this was something we added. Feel free to ask Support for the definitive answer.

Perhaps I can be of assistance... ;)

AD does not compensate within Console, but DOES apply correctly on the timeline (within 1 sample).
DA, on the other hand, DOES line up and does adjust to the slower converter.

This was implemented a while back in UAD 9. something, IIRC.

Ok thanks. Within Console does not matter for me as long as the different Apollo DA (x16, x8p, twin gen2) are reaching the summing mixer “the same” time.

As far as AD belongs it is fine for me when monitoring…
