Apollo x4: bypass preamps?

Placer

Is it possible to bypass the preamps in the Apollo x4 in order to connect external outboard preamp?

If not, is this the case with the x6?

Thanks

it is not.

This is a rack series exclusive. So yes, you can with x6.

Thanks for the speedy and clear answer!

(Quick question: Is there a demo option on real time autotune advanced? Even if it’s for 10 minutes!)
You're welcome.

Yes, you can demo any UAD plugin for 14 days. DSP in the UA Meter app and native on the product page for each plugin.

When you are using the LINE inputs on the x4 (with 1/4 cable no XLR), you just cannot bypass the 10db of preamp gain inherent on the x4 (and twin) interfaces. However in my experience, this makes very little difference to the sound and I have always ran external preamps into the line inputs with no issues, as have many other people.

I'm in need for a new Audio Interface but I dont have endless cash. MOTU UltraLite mk5 is bypassing all preamps, when connected on the back.
But technically I didn't really understand why some Interfaces like the Steinbergs, have Preamps on all Line inputs. Why?
