Apollo x4 T3 cables

Hello! I've got an Apollo x4 Heritage edition on the way and the retailer has thrown in a StarTech.com Thunderbolt 3 Cable - 2m. 20 Gbit/s, USB-C. I'll be using a 2022 Macbook Pro with a T4 port. Would it be better to use a T3 to T3 cable? Are they the same thing?

You'll be all set. TB3/4 are basically identical on the Mac.

Appreciate the quick reply. I'll stick with StarTech.com Thunderbolt 3 Cable - 2m. 20 Gbit/s, USB-C.
I think I have a few of them around here and they're good to go. I've also used OWC, Belkin, and Apple cables with success.

Good to know - the confusion was how MBP T4 is backward compatible - it seems like a T3 to T3 would be faster than a T3 to USB variation.

There is no TB to USB.

TB contains USB and shares a connector formfactor, but USB doesn't contain TB.

Confusing I know, but hope this helps.
