Apollo's DSP Is Using A Total Of 62.2% At Idle... Is That Normal?

Not sure if anyone else is seeing this.
I have the Apollo Twin X paired with Apollo x16.
Here is my start up DSP readings (See attached pictures): @62.2% DSP Load At Idle!
Console 102.JPG

I feel I already know but is anyone else experiencing this same problems?

Where are you seeing 62%? It’s showing 6% DSP on the meter. This is normal as the monitoring unit uses DSP for Console routing, etc.

As the title says "Total". :)
So both units in total run natively using a TOTAL of 62.2% DSP ?
Really?
BTW, non of the DSP's read 6% or add up to 6% in my pic, so I'm a little confused by your reply.
Don't worry, I learn real quick! :p

Still not seeing 62.2%. Is there another photo I'm not seeing? I don't even see the Twin in the control panel.

Meter displays total DSP usage at 6%.

um, in your photo, the meter floating on top of the first four console channel strips clearly says 6%. really!

You are correct, not sure how I posted the wrong photo.
Photo Updated..

Now I see the 6% you are talking about.
So my confusion starts with two different readings on DSP. One readings are the DSP1,DSP2, so on and so on.
& then we have the meter showing now 8% for me.

I understand clearly what you guys are explaining to me now about that.
I knew this already but was understanding it a little differently.
Cheers on that.

So the readings on the hardware in meter are at 22%,17%,1.3% and so on.....
All those readings add up to a total of 62.2% for all DSP chips.
That is ok?

The reason why I ask is because I see the bug problem already with having to release DSP% by muting and turning off the power in meter hack
and see that my readings are adding up to much more than others in this forums who have the same hardware.
If I am understanding this correctly that is.

Thanks for your time Gentlemen.

Perfectly normal. A small portion of each of your 8 DSP chips are being used for Console functionality and routing. But total DSP usage would be 62.2% / 8 = 7.75% of your total DSP resources. I can't read the DSP meter at the bottom, but I would assume it's reporting 8%.

If you want clear most of the dsp in console you can do it by holding down control option command and hit Q.

An awfully high amount of DSP being used when nothing is loaded. In my DAW, the DSP doesn’t release until the DAW is closed, even if the project is closed completely. I was going to mention the hack to get it down to 1-2%, but it appears you’re aware. Odd though!

Main confusion is DSP "allocation" not the same as DSP used up and not usable when it jumps into action :)
That threw me off quite a bit back in the day.

Ya, it just seems to me that if there is nothing loaded the usage would be about 1.3% or something to that effect.
Of course this is me not knowing exactly how these things are suppose to operate and their working parameters.

I'm Still learning!

I understand, Thank you.
When I seen the high numbers on the chips like 22% & 17% I was like..... what?

It just seems weird to be reporting any usage by the actual chip for the chip doing it's own job.
I do small electronics repair also and have not seen that in any chip I have worked with or on.
Cool I guess.
I just wish it wasn't DSP power it was consuming.
That may have something to do and tied in with it's near-zero latency ability.
I have no clue.

I do the hack and get it back to 2% which is encouraging.
