Apollos not outputting any sound after computer restart **SOLVED WITH INFO ON WHAT FIXED IT**

Hi, posting here in hopes of getting some faster input or additional suggestions on how to resolve an issue with my Apollos not outputting any sound from my Mac Studio. I've gone back and forth with support several times to no avail and usually don't hear back for at least a day or two, and after their latest troubleshooting step my gear has completely stopped working. I'm on an M1 mac studio with the latest version of Ventura, latest version of Logic Pro X, and latest version of the UAD software. It's been an issue since I got my two new x8p's which I have dealt with, but my workaround has now stopped working as well and I'm currently totally unable to use my recording equipment that I rely on daily for my livelihood.

Any time I restart my computer I am unable to get any sound to output through the Apollos- (I have 2 x8ps and an older silver quad linked together in a multi unit setup). Nothing registers on the output meter in console despite playing audio both through logic and spotify (or anything else on the computer) with the respective outputs set to the Apollo. Interestingly, the output meters register sound from the mics I have connected but no sound coming from the computer will go through the Apollos and therefore no sound through my monitors and headphones. My workaround up to this point has been to basically never restart my Mac, and if I have to, then completely reinstalling the UAD software has temporarily fixed the issue up until this point. However, today it was suggested by support that I remove the older silver quad from the chain and restart to see if that works- it didn't work, and now I've reinstalled the UAD software per my usual workaround and that too has stopped working.

**see my most recent post for how I fixed it**

I've got deadlines to meet for clients so really hoping to get some more attention and support on this issue, and any suggestions from admin or the user community would be very welcome!
What has Support had you try in the past? Defaulting I/O? uninstall/delete prefs/reinstall? This takes your computer back to having never had UAD installed and then does it fresh.

There aren't that many variables here. Have you tried with a single unit attached?

Thanks so much for the quick reply! Initially they had me reset core audio via terminal, do hardware resets on the apollos, delete preference files, reinstall software, and reload firmware on all units. It temporarily fixed it but only until the next restart of my Mac. I've tried with only one unit connected with the same issue. Currently going though all these steps again since my reinstall of the software didn't fix it.

Not sure what to recommend beyond all that. Strange that it fixed it until next boot.

That sounds like the KEXT is not loading on boot up.

You did the Recovery Mode step in the docs?

Do you mean the apple silicon specific install steps to allow full disk access? If so then yes did that

Just as an update, I have things working again after doing a full uninstall/reinstall, hardware reset, and deleting preferences, but am petrified to have to restart my mac in fear of it all happening again- any suggestions on fixing this would be very welcome!

Hi Drew- wanted to give an update as I was able to fix this on my own. It was the 3rd silver apollo quad that was causing the issue, but simply removing it from the chain didn't solve anything. What I had to do was manually remove it within "Devices" in Console Settings and also manually remove it in the same place from any and all Console patches/presets. Bummed to lose the 4 extra inputs and 4 cores of processing but at least I've got a stable system now- hopefully this can be incorporated into your knowledge base so others don't have the same issue I did
